Coastal Merger

Dear Patient

Many of you will be aware that we recently merged with Coastal Villages Practice and after a handover period Dr Lister & Maureen retired on the 31st October 2011 after many years of looking after patients in this area.

Whilst we understand that many of you may have built up a strong relationship with Dr Lister & Maureen we would like to take this opportunity to re-assure you that we fully intend to continue to provide the same high standard of care you have always received. We expect you to notice very little change to how the practice is run in terms of accessibility, safety & patient care and believe we have a very strong team who are more than capable of meeting your needs.

Whilst you are registered with the practice rather than an individual GP I would like to take the opportunity to introduce the team (many of whom are faces you will know already):

GP’s Reception
Dr Uma Ramar – Partner Sarah – Reception Co-ordinator
Dr Steven Taylor – Partner Carole – Receptionist
Dr Mia Krywawych – GP Sadie – Receptionist
Pat – Receptionist
Nursing Michaela – Receptionist
Siobhan – Nurse Chris – Receptionist
Gerie – Nurse
Clare – Healthcare Assistant Admin Support
Lucy – Secretary
Management Mary – Notes summariser
Julie Blackburn – Business Manager Ann – Book-keeper
Sharon Marsden – Practice Manager

The clinical team really do work as one team and meet daily to discuss individual patients to ensure we always offer the best outcome no matter who you see. We are very focused on keeping your medical record up to date so that which ever one of the team you talk to they will always have access to the most up to date information

Our commitment to you is to continue to put patients at the heart of everything we do and genuinely believe that we have a real opportunity to improve on the strong legacy left behind by Dr Lister and Maureen.

We hope you will continue to support the practice and would welcome any feedback on how we can make things even better. We are always looking for patients to join our virtual Patient Participation Group so if you are interested in helping to shape the Old Palace of the future please let Reception know your email address either in person, by calling 01603 663363 or emailing oldpalace.reception@nhs.net and we will ensure that you are consulted on any significant changes and have a chance to tell us what you think.

Many Thanks
The “Old Palace” Team

Chlamydia Screening

We are participating in the nationwide Chlamydia screening programme. Chlamydia affects 1 in 10 young people and as in over 50% of cases has no symptoms and leaves many people unaware they have it. Chlamydia can be easily cured in most cases. However left undetected can lead to infertility. The screening programme aims to reach 35% of people between the ages of 15 and 24. If you are within this age range, sexually active and displaying no symptoms, you can pick up a screening kit from reception even if you are not registered at this practice.
